Front Porch Make-Over

Welcome to House of Laskey!

The front porch has been our most recent make-over, and let me tell you… It’s amazing what a little paint can do!

Backstory: My husband (David) and I purchased our Fixer-Upper in May 2014 and we have been updating as we go! We bought our house nearly sight unseen (crazy I know), but houses were selling faster than offers could be made during this time. Our sweet 1970s Ranch Home had everything we needed, and we were up for the challenge of handling some major renovations!

Anyway, this latest project has me feeling over the moon and the updated curb appeal is a giant plus.

We removed the storm windows and painted the front door and side lights with Behr Carbon Black Semi-Gloss Paint.

Replacing the extremely outdated and let’s call it like we see it- ugly lights were up next. I spent some time researching and ultimately went with this set of two from Lamps Plus. I couldn’t be happier with the end result! What do you think?

I joked as we prepped the porch, “I wonder what took us so long to complete this task!” Well, obviously it’s been all of the other projects we’ve completed over the last few years, but this truly makes me so happy!

The last addition to the front porch was an address sign. We removed the old intercom box and replaced it with this gorgeous address sign that we built together. I truly enjoy bringing David into my projects. He always has the best execution! I had some common pine board and Minwax Stain in Weathered Oak on hand from a previous project. We purchased these Everbilt house numbers from Home Depot and opted for the floating look.

Obviously, some fresh fall decor was begging to be placed! Bring on all of the pumpkins and spooky!
